Trade Minister meets with her North American counterparts to discuss economic cooperation

The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of International Trade, issued the following statement following [the] trilateral meeting with her U.S. and Mexican counterparts:

“Penny Pritzker, the United States Secretary of Commerce, ...in Washington hosted Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, Mexico’s Secretary of Economy, and me at a meeting to discuss economic cooperation and competitiveness in North America...

“My colleagues and I endorsed the workplan for North American competitiveness in advance of the North American Leaders’ Summit. Together, we will pursue innovation and economic development, greater supply chain efficiency, and stakeholder consultations and outreach. This plan supports new initiatives for woman entrepreneurs, clean-energy partnerships, collaboration on patents and on cybersecurity, and new connections among our communities...
