Canada and the United States announce Phase II of Truck Cargo Pre-inspection Pilot

Today, Canada’s Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, the Honourable Steven Blaney... officially launched Phase II of the truck cargo pre-inspection pilot at the Peace Bridge crossing between Fort Erie, Ontario and Buffalo, New York. The pilot is a key deliverable under the Beyond the Border Action Plan issued by Prime Minister Harper and President Obama in December 2011.

Obama signs executive order on streamlining the export/import processes

President Barack Obama, Wednesday, issued an executive order setting a Dec. 31, 2016 deadline for more than 40 federal agencies to have their systems ready to regulate import and export transactions through a common, government-wide, data-transmission pipeline.
