South Korea says it’s banning imports of Canadian beef after a case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), or “mad cow disease,” was found on a northern Alberta farm earlier this week, despite reassurances from Canada’s agriculture minister the case would not impact Canadian beef trade.

Ukraine conflict: Canada issues new sanctions

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has announced a new round of sanctions in response to what he calls the "escalated acts of aggression" by Russian-backed fighters in eastern Ukraine.

Harper's office issued travel bans Tuesday against 37 Russian and Ukrainian individuals and economic sanctions against 17 Russian and Ukrainian entities.

Government of Canada welcomes an arrangement with the US to advance the new publicly-owned bridge between Windsor and Detroit
