Legislative amendments to the Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA), the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act (TDGA), 1992, and the Railway Safety Act (RSA), included in the Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 1 introduced today in Parliament, will enhance Canada’s ability to deal with unsafe vehicles and support regulatory alignment under the Canada-U.S. Regulatory Cooperation Council (RCC).

Amendments to the Act
The Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA), which was last significantly revised in 1993, regulates the manufacture and importation of motor vehicles as well as new tires and equipment used to restrain children and disabled persons inside the vehicle.
