Export certification and inspection fees for aquatic animals, fish and seafood products

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) would like to remind exporters of the fees associated with exporting aquatic animals, fish and seafood products.

Under the CFIA Fees Notice, separate fees are charged for inspection and for certification as follows:

For aquatic animal health requirements:

  • $20 for certification only,
  • $30 for inspection without certification, and
  • $50 for inspection with certification.

For food safety requirements:

  • $100 for inspection resulting in certification or not, and
  • $25 for certification only.

Inspection and certification fees will be applied for export certificates containing both aquatic animal health and food safety requirements.

This has been excerpted from a 11 June 2015 industry notice published on the CFIA website.
