Minister Fast Announces Four New Trade Offices in China

The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, ...announced that Canada will open four new trade offices in China, providing on-the-ground support and increased assistance for Canadian businesses as they explore new opportunities with Canada’s second-largest trading partner.

Under Canada’s Global Markets Action Plan, Canada is aligning resources to priority markets via redeployments and strengthening the Trade Commissioner Service network. The opening of new trade offices will complement the existing network, bringing it to a total of 15 points of service and 100 trade commissioners in China.

To support Canadian businesses domestically, Minister Fast announced last week that 25 trade commissioners will be embedded in business associations across Canada to gain better insight into export sector needs and coordinate Government of Canada trade promotion services and activities...
