CN20-26, Fee Increase - Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) Program
Ottawa, July 23, 2020
1. The Canada Border Services Agency has been notified by Transport Canada, Registrar of Imported Vehicles that certain fees are being increased as of August 1, 2020.
2. This notice is to advise importers that vehicles required to be registered with the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) using From 1 or Form 3 will be subject to the following increases:
a. Vehicles entering the RIV Program with a Vehicle Import Form- Form 1 or RIV e-Form 1:
- Increased from $310 plus Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Quebec Sales tax (QST) to $325 plus GST and QST, for vehicles entering Canada through a port of entry in Quebec.
- Increased from $310 plus Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Provincial Sales Tax (PST) or Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) to $325 plus GST/PST or the HST, for vehicles entering Canada through a port of entry in any other province or territory.
b. Vehicles entering the RIV Program with a Vehicle Imported for Parts Form – Form 3 or RIV e-Form 3 (parts only vehicles):
- Increase from $95 plus GST and QST to $100 plus GST and QST, for vehicles entering Canada through a port of entry in Quebec.
- Increase from $95 plus GST/PST or HST to $100 plus GST/PST or HST, for vehicles entering through a border crossing in any other province or territory.
