Draft Order Amending Schedule 3 to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999

Please note that on March 29, 2014, Environment Canada published in the Canada Gazette, Part I a draft Order Amending Schedule 3 to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999) (http://www.canadagazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2014/2014-03-29/html/reg1-eng.php). This draft order would remove the pesticide azinphos-methyl and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) substances from part 3 of Schedule 3 and would add them to parts 1 and 2 respectively.  These substances were listed under the Rotterdam Convention in August 2013.

Interested parties are invited to provide written comments within 75 days of the publication. Comments received through this consultation will be considered in developing the Order which will be published in Part II of the Canada Gazette. Please be advised that any information received as a result of these consultations will be considered and treated as publicly available information unless it is clearly specified that the submission is to be held in confidence by the Government of Canada.
