Update on Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza - State of Montana

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has amended the area of restriction for poultry, birds (including pet birds) and all unprocessed avian products and by-products, including raw pet foods originating from the State of Montana. The following areas within the State are prohibited, for the time being.

  • All of Fergus County, Montana
  • Flathead County (partially)  Montana 
  • All of Judith Basin County,  Montana

The Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) will be updated accordingly as soon as possible. Contact the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) for detailed information on boundaries of the control zones, as recognized by Canada, as well as for details on the zoosanitary export certification required.
