On July 9th, 2018, Global Affairs Canada opened a public online comment period to seek input on the administration of the new tariff rate quotas (TRQ) that will be implemented pursuant to Canada’s commitment under the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). The TRQs will cover products in the following sectors:
U.S.-Canada tariffs to trim growth, boost inflation: Bank of Canada

The tit-for-tat tariffs imposed by Canada and the United States will trim Canadian exports and imports by 0.6 percent and boost inflation by about 0.1 percentage point, the Bank of Canada said on Wednesday.
