Effective July 19, 2017, Singapore has revised the Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) related import conditions for beef import from Canada to allow deboned beef cuts from cattle of all ages and bone in beef cuts from cattle under 30 months of age.
The stakes are high. For some, they’re about as high as they get. Tough talk south of the border has Canadian exporters worried that if they don’t relocate to the US, they will lose their sales there. These fears are not made up; they are real. And they are being validated by US buyers who have bought in to ‘America first’ thinking.
CFIA has been informed by Chinese authorities that an older version of form CFIA/ACIA 4159 "Certificate of Inspection Covering Meat & Poultry Meat Products - for China" is being used by exporters.
