CIFA has contacted the CSCB and asked that we ensure members are aware of the changes regarding the process for importing meat from the U.S. CFIA is streamlining the current two-step process for importing U.S. meat and meat products into Canada and this initiative is intended to provide consistency for import processes of meat and most other food commodities.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) today announced the prescribed annual interest rates that will apply to any amounts owed to the CRA and to any amounts the CRA owes to individuals and corporations. These rates remain unchanged from the last quarter and will be in effect from April 1, 2014 to June 30, 2014.
