Export of fish and seafood from Canada to India / Exportation de poisson et de fruits de mer du Canada vers l'Inde

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has been informed by India that as of January 1st, 2023, they will be implementing new import requirements for fish and seafood from Canada to India. Canada will be negotiating with India the food safety requirements included on the certificate for the export of fish and seafood in the coming weeks.

We would like to advise fish and seafood exporters that shipments arriving in India on January 1, 2023, and onward will require the new certificate template. Therefore, effective immediately, CFIA will stop issuing the following export certificates for those shipments until the new export certificate is negotiated and implemented.

• For molluscs: Aquatic Animal Health and Sanitary Certificate for the Export of Molluscs for Human Consumption from Canada to India (AQAH-1045)
• For eviscerated finfish and their products: Aquatic Animal Health and Sanitary Certificate for the Export of Eviscerated Finfish and their Products for Human Consumption from Canada to India (AQAH-1046)
• For crustaceans: Aquatic Animal Health and Sanitary Certificate for the Export of Crustaceans for Human Consumption from Canada to India (AQAH-1047)

CFIA will advise the fish and seafood industry when the new certificate has been negotiated with India and ready to be issued by CFIA inspectors.

L'Agence canadienne d'inspection des aliments (ACIA) a été informée par l'Inde qu'à partir du 1er janvier 2023, de nouvelles exigences d'importation seront mises en place pour le poisson et les fruits de mer du Canada vers l'Inde. Le Canada négociera avec l'Inde dans les semaines à venir les exigences en matière de salubrité des aliments se trouvant sur le certificat pour l'exportation de poisson et de fruits de mer.

Nous tenons à informer les exportateurs de poisson et de fruits de mer que les envois arrivant en Inde le 1er janvier 2023, et au-delà doivent être accompagnés du nouveau modèle de certificat. Par conséquent, l'ACIA cessera de délivrer les certificats d'exportation suivant immédiatement pour ces expéditions jusqu'à ce que le nouveau certificat d'exportation soit négocié et mis en œuvre.

• Pour les mollusques : Certificat d'hygiène et de santé des animaux aquatiques pour l'exportation de mollusques destinés à la consommation humaine du Canada vers l'Inde (AQAH-1045)
• Pour les poissons à nageoires éviscérés et leurs produits : Certificat d'hygiène et de santé des animaux aquatiques pour l'exportation de poissons à nageoires éviscérés et de leurs produits destinés à la consommation humaine du Canada vers l'Inde (AQAH-1046)
• Pour les crustacés : Certificat d'hygiène et de santé des animaux aquatiques pour l'exportation de crustacés destinés à la consommation humaine du Canada vers l'Inde (AQAH-1047)

L'ACIA informera l'industrie du poisson et des fruits de mer lorsque le nouveau modèle de certificat aura été convenu avec l'Inde et prêt à être délivré par les inspecteurs de l'ACIA.
