Consultation on the requirements for importing earthworms

Are you an earthworm producer, distributor, importer or exporter or do you have an interest in matters related to angling, bait or vermicomposting?

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has launched a public consultation on proposed changes to the plant protection requirements for importing earthworms into Canada for commercial purposes. The consultation closes August 16, 2019.

New Test Market Authorizations process

Under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), test market provisions now apply to all foods. Test marketing food allows exemption from certain regulatory requirements, such as bilingual labelling requirements under the Food and Drug Regulations (FDR) and regulated container sizes under the SFCR.
