Irving Paper has tariff reduced in NAFTA battle with U.S.
Irving Paper Ltd. has had its tariff reduced from 18 per cent to 5.97 per cent by the United States Department of Commerce following its expedited review of supercalendered paper from Canada.
The reduction comes after the tariff was upheld by the North American Free Trade Agreement panel that was hearing a challenge against unfair tariffs.
Regulation of the State of New York for Oak Wilt Disease
Effective April 28, 2017, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will regulate the state of New York for Oak Wilt Disease. As a result, a Phytosanitary Certificate with an additional declaration or treatment details, or a Plant Protection Import Permit, will be required for the following commodities originating from the state of New York:
