Status of Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza (LPAI) restrictions on poultry meat originating from Ontario for export to Japan
Please be advised that Japan has removed temporary restrictions imposed on import of poultry meat and meat products originating from Ontario due to the Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza (LPAI) outbreak.
Poultry meat and meat products derived from poultry slaughtered on and after November 30, 2016 are eligible for export to Japan.
This change is effective immediately.
Beta-Agonist Free Beef Certification Program for beef export to China
Please note that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has been made aware of some issues with the implementation of the Canadian Beta-Agonist Free Beef Certification Program.
The CFIA can issue export certificates for beef shipments destined to China as long as the operators provide evidence that they are meeting China's import requirements.
