Unionized truckers vote to join Vancouver port strike

Unionized container truck drivers at Canada's largest port voted on Saturday to join a strike by their non-unionized colleagues, who walked off the job on Wednesday over a long-running dispute about pay and services.

NAFTA Freight Flows Fall 6.3% in December but Rise 2.6% in 2013

Monthly freight flows between the U.S. and its NAFTA partners declined in December to $90.1 billion, according to statistics released Feb. 27 by the Department of Transportation. These statistics show that the value of total U.S. trade with Canada and Mexico by all modes of transportation:

- fell for the second straight month, by 6.3%, after a record high in October;

Canada's economy expands at 2.9% pace, beating forecasts

Canada's economy expanded an an annualized pace of 2.9 per cent in the last three months of 2013, Statistics Canada reported Friday.

That was better than the downward-revised pace of 2.4 per cent seen in the U.S. over the same period. It was also better than the 2.5 per cent growth rate that analysts had been expecting.
