Proposed U.S. Border Inspection Fee Increases

Sugar-Containing Products Export Quota

July 18, 2014

Due to exceptional circumstances, a portion of the sugar-containing products (SCP) export quota to the United States is now available for utilization by Canadian residents on a first-come, first-served basis until the available quantity is fully used or September 30, 2014, whichever occurs first.

Canada's merchandise exports advanced 3.5% and imports grew 1.6% in May. As a result, Canada's trade deficit with the world narrowed from $961 million in April to $152 million in May.

Exports increased to $44.2 billion, the second highest value on record, led by motor vehicles and parts. Overall, volumes were up 4.2% and prices declined 0.7%.

Beef and Veal TRQ: Quantities available for reallocation this week

For the week of July 2 to July 8, 2014, the amount of TRQ available for re-allocation is: 76,856 kg.

The FATDC department will accept applications for the available quota on a first come first served basis starting at 1:00 p.m. eastern standard time on July 2, 2014, and until 4:00 p.m. on the same day.
