On July 6, 2022, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) published amendments to the Food and Drug Regulations and the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations related to the Food Product Innovation initiative.
This is a reminder that the CFIA is hosting webinars to provide an overview of the food labelling changes to industry and other stakeholders.

US container import volumes in July 2022 set yet another record versus July 2021. While lower than the all-time record in May 2022, volumes remain above the level that has caused port congestion and delays for the last 17 months. A number of factors, such as a slowing economy, inflation and high fuel costs have not had the anticipated impact on slowing down US container imports.

The import and admissibility requirements for all the end uses of organic Dairy products from chapters 04, 09, 18, 19, 21, 22 and 35 were incorporated into AIRS, as per Part 13 of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations.
