The USDA has reported to CFIA problems with the export certificate HA1938 Export of Swine to the United States.

As stated in chapter 5, section 5.9 of the Accredited Veterinarians Manual, one of the health certificate requirement is to cross out and initial one of the following option:

China to resume imports of Canadian beef and pork

China will resume imports of Canadian beef and pork, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Tuesday, some four months after Beijing blocked shipments amid an escalating diplomatic feud between the two countries.

“Good news for Canadian farmers today: Canadian pork and beef exports to China will resume,” Trudeau tweeted.

A difference in food health standards between the European Union and Canada is being blamed for beef exports falling short of expectations, despite a promising modification to a trade agreement between Canada and Europe.

In 2017, the landmark Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) was established, removing tariffs imposed on Canadian production.
